In this lecture, Dr. Trepal provides a developemental overview of the sesamoid complex and defines various anomalies of the sesamoids. He briefly reviews the anatomy of the sesamoid complex and the functional role the sesamoids play in gait. Dr. Trepal demonstrates appropriate examination techniques of the sesamoids. In conclusion, he reviews biomechanical syndromes of the sesamoid complex especially in relation to hallux valgus deformity and discusses surgical outcomes of removal of one or both sesamoid bones.

| Nevus vs Melanoma |

This lecture will help you better differentiate a nevus from a melanoma. Dr. Mclain will present numerous slides of lesions and discuss how to determine whether it is a nevus or melanoma. He will review the criteria for diagnosis of melanoma and discuss when a biopsy should be performed.
