In this lecture, Wound Science Delayed Healing in Normal and Diabetic Skin Dr. McClain, MD reviews impaired wound healing in the general population and diabetics and relates the anatomy of the skin and the factors important in the healing process. He defines delayed healing, discusses animal research and identifies multiple factors that can cause delayed wound healing. He recognizes the role of collagenase inhibitors for wound healing.
