In this lecture, Dr. Hadi provides a review of the phases of wound healing and the cell mediators involved in each phase of healing. She discusses the factors responsible in delayed wound healing in reference to chronic wounds. She further goes into detail regarding the role of MMPs in the delaying of wound healing in the inflammatory phase. Dr. Hadi concludes with an overview for comprehensive strategies to wound healing.

In this lecture, Dr. Fitzgerald defines the entities known as Hallux Limitis and Hallux Rigidus. He then describes a couple of the classification systems reported in the literature. Dr. Fitzgerald then reviews the various surgical solutions available for each of the stages described in these classification systems. He ends the lecture with some case reports illustrating the surgical principles he laid out in the lecture.
